Founded by Mark Stasensko, a writer on the Netflix show American Vandal (and an all-around great guy), the competition’s mission is, essentially, to discover new screenwriters and help open doors for them in the entertainment industry. With H8, it’s been around seven years for my partner, Erica, and I: two and a half writing drafts and submitting to contests, and another five before that gestating the characters and story. If a word count is not specified above there is no word count requirement. The voting will begin after the committee determines that all entries qualify and disqualify those that do not. The committee will review the entries when the deadline is reached. If your entry is disqualified you will not be refunded the entry fees. The committee will read all entries to ensure that the contest rules are being followed. That includes formatting of text, descriptions, title formatting and author notes.Īll contest entries will be reviewed by the Contest Entry Compliance Committee. As a blind entry, authors should make every effort to ensure that their identity can not be determined from the post. But when viewed information to identify it with you will not be shown until after the voting is completed. It will still be available in your portfolio and treated like all other posts.
